Supercomputing Laboratory

An important part of BIFI's computing resources is hosted in the Supercomputing Laboratory, located in our facilities in Edificio Cervantes.

The resources of the Laboratory work operatively around several computing platforms. The most remarkable system is Terminus; a distributed memory cluster working under GNU/Linux ("Beowulf cluster" design) which ranks as one of the most powerful supercomputers in Spain. Terminus provides a high performance computing service 24 hours-a-day.

Another noticeable number of computers of the Laboratory are integrated in international Grid networks, in which BIFI participates through research projects funded by the European Union. More information about our Grid resources here.

The Supercomputing Laboratory also hosts other systems with diverse functionality, remarking a mirror of the "openSUSE" GNU/Linux distribution and other services for internal use.
