SUMMARY:JORNADA DE PUERTAS ABIERTAS DEL INSTITUTO DE BIOCOMPUTACIÓN Y FÍSICA DE SISTEMAS COMPLEJOS EN LA FACULTAD DE VETERINARIA
DESCRIPTION:Con motivo del décimo aniversario del BIFI el Instituto está realizando una serie de seminarios y jornadas de puertas abiertas en distintos centros de investigación de nuestra comunidad. El objetivo de estos seminarios es dar a conocer las principales líneas de investigación del BIFI\, haciendo especial énfasis en sus infraestructuras. Dichas líneas e infraestructuras podrían resultar de interés para otros grupos de investigación aragoneses. \nPor todo ello el Instituto de Biocomputación y Física de Sistemas Complejos tiene el placer de invitarles al seminario que tendrá lugar el jueves 23 de Mayo a las 10 h en el Aula de Grados de la Facultad de Veterinaria \nPonentes: \n\nDra. SUMMARY:Workshop virtual abierto
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nWORKSHOP VIRTUAL ABIERTO\, miércoles día 30 de enero \nReconocidos expertos analizan los últimos avances en plataformas computacionales de ciencia ciudadana. \nEste miércoles\, 30 de enero\, a las 16.00 horas\, se celebra el taller virtual abierto Citizen Science en el que\, a través de la herramienta Google Hangout\, expertos de todo el mundo en este modelo de investigación darán a conocer sus últimos trabajos y experiencias en infraestructuras abiertas para la computación en red\, que posibilitan la participación de miles de voluntarios en proyectos de investigación. \nEl taller tendrá una duración de dos horas en el transcurso de las cuales se repasarán tecnologías como BOINC\, Bossa\, PyBossa\, Furnivall\, Ourgrid y otras similares\, siempre prestando especial atención a los últimos desarrollos\, administración y casos de éxito. \nEste workshop virtual\, organizado por la Fundación Ibercivis y por el proyecto Society as Infrastructure for e-Science que financia la Comisión Europea en el FP7\, contará con la participación de David Anderson\, de la Universidad de Berkeley); Daniel Lombrana\, del Citizen Cyberscience Centre; Francisco Sanz\, del Instituto de Biocomputación y Física de Sistemas Complejos (BIFI); Eduardo Lostal\, en representación de Ibercivis; Francisco Brasileiro\, de la Universidad Federal de Campina Grande; Candida Silva\, de la Universidad de. SUMMARY:VI National Conference BIFI 2013
DESCRIPTION:The VI National Congress of the Institute for Biocomputation and Physics of Complex Systems (BIFI) will take place at the Edificio I+D of the “Río Ebro” (Actur) Campus of the University of Zaragoza (Spain)\, on January\, 30- February 1\, 2013.\nThe Congress will also host a special session dedicated to the celebration of the 10th anniversary of our Institute. \n\nThe aim of the Congress is to give to all participants a chance to disseminate their work and strengthen existing collaborations or establish new ones\, within the different research lines promoted by the BIFI Institute. \nTo this end\, the format of the Congress will include plenary sessions in the morning\, with invited and contributed talks\, as well as short outlines of the progress in each research line of the Institute\, providing the audience with an introduction on what will be discussed in the related workshops. The latter will run\, in the afternoon\, as two parallel sessions\, devoted to “Biochemistry\, Biophysics and Molecular Cell Biology”\, and “Physics and Computation”. DESCRIPTION:The V International Conference of the Institute for Biocomputation and Physics of Complex Systems (BIFI) will take place on February 1-4\, 2012. \nThe meeting will be an international conference on Drug Discovery from a protein perspective\, covering most of the initial steps in drug discovery and preclinical studies (new protein targets\, protein target validation\, new methodologies and tools for structural and functional characterization\, experimental and computational high-throughput screening\, etc.).
