El art\u00edculo Evolutionary games defined at the network mesoscale: The Public Goods game<\/em>, del investigador Jes\u00fas G\u00f3mez-Garde\u00f1es del BIFI ha sido el art\u00edculo m\u00e1s citado en 2012 en la revista Chaos. Fue publicado el 29 de marzo de 2011, en colaboraci\u00f3n con Miguel Romance y Regino Criado, de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de M\u00f3stoles, y Daniele Vilone y Angel S\u00e1nchez de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.<\/p>\n

Este art\u00edculo, que hasta la fecha cuenta con 22 citas (seg\u00fan Web of Science), trata de la emergencia de cooperaci\u00f3n en redes de colaboraci\u00f3n. Para ello, los autores introdujeron el uso una novedosa herramienta de la teor\u00eda de redes: las redes bipartitas. Combinando esta representaci\u00f3n para las redes de colaboraci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica, incluyendo miles de investigadores, con la teor\u00eda evolutiva de juegos, los autores consiguen analizar el \u00e9xito o fracaso de estos sistemas sociales.<\/p>\n

Abstract: The evolutionary dynamics of the Public Goods game addresses the emergence of cooperation within groups of individuals. However, the Public Goods game on large populations of interconnected individuals has been usually modeled without any knowledge about their group structure. In this paper, by focusing on collaboration networks, we show that it is possible to include the mesoscopic information about the structure of the real groups by means of a bipartite graph. We compare the results with the projected (coauthor) and the original bipartite graphs and show that cooperation is enhanced by the mesoscopic structure contained. We conclude by analyzing the influence of the size of the groups in the evolutionary success of cooperation.<\/p>\n
