Personal statement
I completed the final degree project “Isolation of Trichoderma species in soils dedicated to rice cultivation in Spain” under the direction of Juan José Barriuso Vargas and Esther Sales Clemente at the Escuela Politécnica Superior de Huesca, University of Zaragoza. Afterwards, I worked as a laboratory and field technician at the University of Zaragoza (CONVENIO AYTO. ZARAGOZA and UNIV. ZARAGOZA) for applied scientific support in the protection against pests and diseases of woody species in the gardens and roads of the city of Zaragoza. In 2023, I began working as a laboratory technician supporting research in the Bioflora group of the Escuela Politécnica Superior de Huesca, where I continue currently. Last September, I joined BIFI to improve my knowledge in computing and data analytics.
Researcher profile identity
I am an R1 level researcher. I currently work as an applied scientific support technician in the molecular biology laboratory of plants and greenhouse (INVESTIGO Program). We are working on the co-evolution and adaptive speciation of grasses-endophytes (Festuca, Brachypodium, Epichloë) in a pangenomic framework. Another study is the analysis of the soil-rhizosphere-root microbiome of 12 ecotypes of Brachypodium under drought conditions and controlled irrigation.
Why my research is important
Research on these plants has a great scientific and technological impact since it will allow us to know the relationship between the main evolutionary lineages of poid grasses, some of which have a high economic value for adding to cereals and pastures and forages.
