BioPhyzza Connection 2026 in Zaragoza: a public outreach event on 26 March where science and pizza come together.

Science and public engagement came together at the University of Zaragoza during BioPhyzza Connection 2026, an event that combined scientific knowledge with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Organised by the Spanish Biophysics Society as part of Biophysics Week, BioPhyzza Connection is an initiative designed to bring biophysics closer to the general public in an informal setting accompanied, of course, by a slice of pizza.
Alongside the scientific programme, attendees enjoyed free pizza courtesy of Domino’s Pizza, creating the perfect environment for learning, discussion and networking.
The event took place on Thursday, 26 March 2026, at 12:00 noon in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Zaragoza.
Participants attended two talks presented by experts in the field:
- Detecting the Invisible: Towards the Early Diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease — Alejandra Carrancho, BIFI Institute
- From Natural Intelligence to AI and from the Bottle to Cotegin: An Example of the Use of New Technologies in the Study of Gene Expression — José A. Carrodeguas, BIFI Institute
The event offered a unique opportunity to discover biophysics in an engaging and accessible way, while enjoying an occasion that brought together science, gastronomy and good company.
